Ceramic soap dish from the “Fustat” district in Egypt.
Ceramic work is said to be one of the handicrafts that most reflect the civilization and development of a country and which began in Egypt in the prehistoric times on the Nile Delta.
The craft then flourished in the “Fatimid” district, distinguished by colorful decorations and drawings of plants and animals.
We purchase our lovingly painted soap dishes from an association for the preservation & care of Egyptian craftsmanship and culture in a cooperation of 28 creative groups that are spread all over the country.
